Mason's Creek Extra Virgin Olive Oil,
Rain-fed, cold-pressed and wind blown!
Our oil is dry grown on the Bellarine Peninsula. It is the pure juice
of olives. Nothing else is added.
NSW Department of Primary Industries tests show that the oil is
brimming with polyphenols. This means it has lots of antioxidants and
is full of flavour.
No irrigation: we attribute the results partly to the fact that
we do not irrigate our olive trees. Rather, we grow them in conditions
similar to those where they grew for thousands of years in the Mediterranean
basin. We believe that this minimal amount of water enhances the flavour
of the oil.
Responsible use of water: we live in a dry continent. Recurring
droughts have made many of us increasingly aware that we need to think
again about how we use our water. Our concern for the environment is reflected
in our lack of irrigation.
The result: a tasty, peppery oil, perfect for salads and great
for cooking!
Buckley Country Olive Oil (registered trademark)
Down on the Bellarine Peninsula we have all heard of William Buckley,
the 'wild white man' who lived in the area for 31 years before Batman
landed at Indented Head. He not only survived but thrived in what must
have been extremely harsh conditions. Our olive trees also grow in harsh
conditions: rain-fed and wind blown in the bracing Bellarine climate.
Like William Buckley, they have not only survived but thrived, producing
a peppery and pungent oil.
